The Worry of the Old Souls

I worry about the old souls whose solid core help to fill your holes.

I worry about the old souls with their labored breath and how they save others from an untimely death.

I worry about the old souls who sift through the layers to help you weed out the players.

I worry about the old souls whose steady hearts withstand the fling of others’ darts.

I worry about the old souls who should have the gift of love returned to them on the palm of a golden glove.

I worry about the old souls and that they will eventually tire of extinguishing your selfish, cold fires.

I worry about the old souls.
